About Renouer

A method, not a promise.

Renouer was born from an observation the leading researchers in the field make themselves: while millions of parents live through estrangement from their adult child, almost no structured, reliable support exists — and next to nothing in French.

What sets us apart

We sell neither miracle methods nor vague consolation. Every step of the programme rests on a published, verifiable scientific source, cited in the relevant module. Where the research is uncertain, we say so — rather than filling the gaps with false certainties. That is our definition of kindness: respect for your intelligence and your pain.

Our scientific foundations

Renouer draws on the world's reference works. We are not affiliated with any of these researchers: we rigorously apply their published conclusions.

Karl Pillemer — Cornell University

Author of Fault Lines (2020) and director of the Cornell Family Reconciliation Project: the first national survey on family estrangement and the study of families who managed to reconnect.

Joshua Coleman — Council on Contemporary Families

Clinical psychologist, author of Rules of Estrangement (2021), a world reference on the letter of amends and supporting parents.

Pauline Boss — University of Minnesota

Creator of the concept of « ambiguous loss », the framework explaining why this particular pain does not close like ordinary grief.

Renouer is a knowledge-based support programme. It replaces neither psychotherapy nor medical care. In cases of established violence or psychological distress, a health professional must be your first point of contact — in France, 3114 is free, 24/7.
